Here's the fix:
1.Open Device Manager
2. Go to Batteries -> Microsoft AC Adapter, double click it and and click Disable Device.
At this point you'll see a standard warning but there's no need to worry because I've already tested this and there's no risk.
3. Now enable it again.
4. Do the same for Microsoft ACPI-Compliant Control Method Battery.
After following above steps, you should see that the battery icon in the system tray.
